Domain or Hosted Domain

A domain name is an identity with an extension of .com, .org, .net, .info etc. A hosted domain is an identity on the World Wide Web.

You can buy your domain anywhere and it is yours to keep as long as you pay tht yearly fee.

But, when you buy a domain and host it somewhere, it is on the World Wide Web, and instantly available for publically being found. What would that domain look like at this point? Not much. In most cases it would have a page that says you have reached a page that not available. This is set by the hosting company until you change it.

How do you get a site up without spending all of your hard earned money? Word Press. If your hosting company has a tool to install Word Press, do it on your hosted domain. Then you have a site. Editing your Word Press site is a lot easier than you think.

If you think you want to get online, look at Bluehost for hosting and domain registration in one place.
